Aurora Adventure 1-5 February 2016

As announced on Facebook, I am organizing another Aurora Hunting trip to Arctic Finland from 1 to 5 February 2016.

Destination

The venue for this Aurora Adventure is the Arctic! You will travel to the northernmost airport in Finland and stay at 250 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle! Our venue is away from the city lights, but near to the attractions of the Arctic Resort of Saariselkä. Here you will find the world’s northermost spa, in addition to ski slopes and other Nordic activities. Our apartments in a typical Finnish cabin is a few kilometers away, offering great and dark Aurora spotting. From our cabin we will make snowmobile and snowshoe treks to dark spots for the best Aurora hunting in Europe.

The cabin will be booked exclusively for our group. It consists of two apartments with double (twin) rooms, a large living room, kitchen, sauna and shared bathrooms for a total of 14 people.

Aurora disclaimer

Location and time of year are chosen for maximum Aurora spotting chances. Normally in this area Auroras are visible (from faint to very bright) in about 4 out of every 5 nights. But with all natural phenomena there is no guarantee that Aurora will actually be visible during our stay and weather can spoil Aurora watching opportunities. By booking this trip you will accept this as a fact of life, and no claims or refunds will be accepted in case we don’t spot Aurora. However, spending a week in the Arctic winter is a bucket list experience by itself and will be one of the best things you have ever done. With or even without Aurora.
