After the announcement that she would be visiting friends in Mumbai, India with her brother and parents, 7-year old Emma Timmermans from Nijmegen decided she wanted to help the ‘poor children’. At school she learned that poor people live in India and she didn’t want to pass the chance to help them out. Flightblog: Aeroflot SU566 Mumbai naar Moskou
Vanwege een staking bij Air France werden we bij aankomst op de luchthaven van Mumbai omgeboekt op een vlucht met Aeroflot. In plaats van via Parijs, vlogen we nu via Moskou Sheremetyevo naar Dusseldorf. De eerste vlucht vond plaats met een Boeing 767-300/ER (VP-BWV) van Aeroflot. Dit toestel is gebouwd in 1991 en is in 2005 door Aeroflot overgenomen van Eva Air. Continue reading
Flightblog: Air Sahara S2-123 Bangalore naar Chennai

Een korte binnenlandse vlucht van Bangalore naar Chennai, in het zuiden van India. Air Sahara is een relatief nieuwe low-cost carrier die binnenlandse vluchten uitvoert in India. Concurrenten zijn o.a. Indian Airlines, Air Deccan, Kingfisher en Jet Airways. Maatschappijen vliegen vaak exact dezelfde routes, dus de concurrentie is moordend. Prijzen zijn erg laag (vergelijkbaar met Ryanair/easyJet), maar de service is hoog. Continue reading
Flightblog: Jet Airways 9W-801 New Delhi naar Bangalore
In aansluiting op de KLM vlucht naar Delhi biedt Jet Airways verschillende doorverbindingen binnen India. Deze maatschappij is een van de modernste van het land en wordt binnen India gezien als de beste. Het is niet voor niets dat Jet Airways nu probeert een succesvolle concurrent te worden van Air India op een groot aantal nieuwe buitenlandse bestemmingen.
